This tutorial describes how to install the R1Soft<\/a> CDP agent on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7<\/a> (RHEL 7) server. The R1Soft agent requires an R1Soft Server software to be installed on a separate storage server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MANUAL INSTALLATION:<\/strong>

Step 1: <\/strong>Update all packages to the latest version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

yum update<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
 Step 2: <\/strong>Install the kernel-headers package<\/p>\n\n\n\n
yum install kernel-headers kernel-devel<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
 Step 3:<\/strong> Insert the following into a new repository file \/etc\/yum.repos.d\/r1soft.repo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

baseurl=http:\/\/repo.r1soft.com\/yum\/stable\/$basearch\/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Step 4: <\/strong>Install the R1Soft Serverbackup agent<\/p>\n\n\n\n
yum install serverbackup-agent<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Step 5: <\/strong>Install the R1Soft Kernel module<\/p>\n\n\n\n
serverbackup-setup --get-module<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
If you see the following error, proceed to Step 5.1<\/a>  If not, proceed to Step 6<\/a>.
Get module failed.

Step 5.1: <\/strong>Stop the CDP agent<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\/etc\/init.d\/cdp-agent stop<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Step 5.2: <\/strong>Visit the following URL to download a RHEL 7 beta kernel<\/a> module for your kernel: http:\/\/beta.r1soft.com\/modules\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
\/etc\/init.d\/cdp-agent stop<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Step 5.3: <\/strong>Download the file that matches your kernel version to \/lib\/modules\/r1soft. Change the URL below to your matching kernel version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Change the wget URL below to your matching el7.elrepo kernel version from the repo above. If it does not exist, you can revert your kernel to an earlier version or try opening a ticket with R1Soft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
cd \/lib\/modules\/r1soft\nwget http:\/\/beta.r1soft.com\/modules\/hcpdriver-cki-5.4.127-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64.209.ko<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Step 6: <\/strong>Start the CDP Agent<\/p>\n\n\n\n
