This tutorial describes how to install the Dell OMSA (OpenManage Server Administrator) on Citrix XenServer 6.5<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Note: Citrix has spent long hours quality testing their packages.\u00a0 The method below downloads packages directly from the CentOS-Base repository. While the following method has worked just fine in our lab, we ask you to proceed with caution.<\/em><\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Temporarily disable the Citrix yum repository.\u00a0 As of this post, Citrix’s repo does not seem to be working properly.<\/p>\n

To do so, let’s temporarily move the Citrix.repo file out of the \/etc\/yum.repos.d folder.
\nAlternatively, you can also disable the repo within the file itself.<\/p>\n

mv \/etc\/yum.repos.d\/Citrix.repo \/root\/Citrix.repo<\/em><\/p>\n


\nStep 2:<\/strong> Run the following:<\/p>\n

yum clean all<\/em><\/p>\n


\nStep 3: <\/strong> Install the Dell OMSA Repository:<\/p>\n

wget -q -O – http:\/\/linux.dell.com\/repo\/hardware\/Linux_Repository_14.12.00\/bootstrap.cgi | bash<\/p>\n


\nStep 4:<\/strong> Install Dell OpenManage Server Administrator<\/p>\n

yum –enablerepo=base install srvadmin-all<\/em><\/p>\n


\nStep 5:<\/strong> Open port 1311 in iptables<\/p>\n

nano \/etc\/sysconfig\/iptables<\/em><\/p>\n

Now add the following line above the second-to-last line that mentions icmp-host-prohibited<\/em>:<\/p>\n

-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state –state NEW -m tcp -p tcp –dport 1311 -j ACCEPT<\/em><\/p>\n


\nStep 6:<\/strong> Restart iptables<\/p>\n

service iptables restart<\/em><\/p>\n


\nStep 7:<\/strong> Start Dell OpenManage Server Administrator<\/p>\n

\/opt\/dell\/srvadmin\/sbin\/srvadmin-services.sh start<\/em><\/p>\n


\nStep 8:<\/strong> Move the Citrix.repo file back to the original location:<\/p>\n

mv \/root\/Citrix.repo \/etc\/yum.repos.d<\/em><\/p>\n
